Choose the solver before the seat
ANSYS Mechanical covers structural, thermal and fatigue analysis. Fluent and CFX cover fluid flow and thermal-fluid problems. Buying the wrong solver family is a far more expensive mistake than buying one seat too few.
HPC packs and solve time
Base licences include limited parallel cores. HPC packs multiply available cores and are usually what turns an overnight solve into a lunchtime solve — often better value than a second seat.
Academic and research licensing
